In the last week, two individuals were revived after near-fatal overdoses by a drug called Naloxone. Frequently referred to as NARCAN, it acts as a simple means to revive and block those who are overdosing from becoming ‘overdose fatalities’.
However, there is a debate and stigma attached to NARCAN. To break down the entire substance use disorder epidemic Petrea Rae, Coordinator for the Substance Abuse Coalition of Ontario County was in-studio on Thursday.
The discussion covers a lot of ground, but is an important and timely one.
