The Fountain dedicating on Wednesday, September 2nd may be temporary, but its placement celebrates the permanent ratification of the 19th Amendment, which guarantees and protects a woman’s constitutional right to vote. In 1848, right here in Seneca Falls, the first women’s rights convention was held and an organized movement was born. What followed was 72 years of lobbying, marching, picketing, and protesting for the right to vote.

During the month of August 2020 we are celebrating centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the the United States Constitution. That amendment guarantees that every woman in the United States can not be denied the right to vote based on their gender.
