How beneficial can alternative education programming – like The Walden Project – be for students who might not succeed in the traditional setting?

The answer: Significant.

Andy Webster, local founder of the Finger Lakes’ chapter of The Walden Project – and Janean Shedd – Instructor and Service Learning Coordinator with Walden – were in-studio to talk about the broad benefits of the program.

Students are connected with themselves, their culture, and nature in a diverse, year-long program that can work hand-in-hand with traditional education. They’ve seen significant success with students who are juniors, seniors, or even looking to fill a ‘gap year’ before furthering their education.
