This week, we welcome Steve Pesarek to the 31st Lap, with car chief Billy Twist. Pesarek and Twist will be launching an assault again this year, with the plans of running a full crate late model in the Northeast. Pesarek has seen a resurgence in his career, spending time away from racing before a return to Canandaigua’s Pro Stock Class. Last year, the 69-year old pilot compiled seven wins.
This week, Adam Buchanan of the Go Nuclear Late Model Series returns for a second visit while the studio cast chats with Patriot News writer Jeremy Elliott about the Pennsylvania Sprint Car Scene, and then Brett Deyo regarding Sunday’s Hard Clay Open at Orange County Fair Speedway (Middletown, NY), the season-opener for the Short Track Super Series.
This week, Jay Fish and Dean Reynolds fill in for John and Mike… and we welcome 16-year old Joe Trenca – the 2012 Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints Rookie of the Year – to the program to talk about driver safety and running a Mucci-owned 360. Then, Lyle DeVore – the GM of Lebanon Valley and Albany-Saratoga Speedways – comes in to share the inner workings of the track manager’s lifestyle. We finish up with Gil Tegg Jr., who talks about his motorcycle accident, and his new appreciation and list of goals as he returns to racing modifieds and late models.
