A holiday hoops doubleheader on Friday night at the opening round of the Geneva Holiday Classic featuring one of the most highly anticipated match-ups in Section V this season between a pair of undefeated teams that last met in the NYS Class C Qualifier last March. Justice Smith and the Lyons Lions face-off against Miles Brown and the Northstar-Christian Knights followed by the tournament host Geneva Panthers taking on the Rochester Prep Tigers. Lyons vs. Northstar & Wayne vs. Irondequoit .::. Section V State Qualifier Doubleheader on FL1 Sports 3/7/18

On Wednesday night at Rush-Henrietta, FL1 Sports presented a doubleheader featuring the Section V Class C State Play-In Game between Lyons and Northstar Christian followed by the Class A Play-In Game between Wayne and Irondequoit. The winners advance to the NYSPHSAA tournament and the Far West Regional Game. Lyons Lions vs. Perry Yellow Jackets .::. Section V Class C2 Championship on FL1 Sports 3/5/18

Lyons junior Justice Smith scored 21 of his game-high 33 points in the second half of Monday night’s Section V Class A2 championship game between the Lions and the top-seeded Perry Yellow Jackets in the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester. With his team trailing in the fourth quarter, Smith hit 3 three-pointers and went 4-4 from the line in the final period to lead the Lyons Lions the 18th sectional championship in their school’s history and head coach Zac Young his third sectional title.
