The Midlakes Lady Screaming Eagles captured their second straight Sectional Title on Friday night when they defeated Batavia to win the Class B1 Championships. On Tuesday night at Avon High School, they faced Class B2 Champions Dansville with a berth into the NYSPHSAA Far West Regional. A Monday night high school basketball doubleheader from Seneca Falls will featured a Finger Lakes East girls varsity match-up followed by an intriguing East-West boys cross-over game. First, the league leading Midlakes Lady Screaming Eagles take on the Mynderse Lady Blue Devils. Then, Finger Lakes West leadeing Marcus Whitman brings their 12 game winning stream into Mynderse to take on the Blue Devils. Jim Sinicropi, Mike Alessio and Matt Verkey have the call for FL1 Sports.

South Seneca & Midlakes in NYSPHSAA Far West Regionals .::. FL1 Sports 3/10/18

Two Wayne-Finger Lakes girls basketball teams compete at the Far West Regionals at Rush-Henrietta on Saturday night for a chance to advance to the NYSPHSAA Final Four at Hudson Valley Community College. First, the South Seneca Lady Falcons take on the Section VI Class C Champion Allegany-Limestone Gators. Then, the undefeated Midlakes Screaming Eagles face Section VI Class B Champion Fredonia Hillbillies. Midlakes Screaming Eagles vs. Bath-Haverling Rams .::. Section V Class B Championship on FL1 Sports 3/3/18

The Midlakes girls entered the 2018 postseason with a perfect 20-0 record. Four games later in the Section V Class B Tournament they are still undefeated and now can call themselves Sectional Champions for the first time since 1975. Head Coach Nate Rich’s Screaming Eagles absolutely destroyed Bath-Haverling on Saturday evening at Rush-Henrietta rolling the the title with a 70-40 win in a game that wasn’t close from the start. After Bath-Haverling’s Jadyn Abrams opened the game’s scoring, Midlakes would close the 1st quarter on a 24-4 run and extended their lead to 41-19 heading into halftime before finishing the contest with a 30 point margin.
