Episode 78 ..::.. Front Office to Finish Line

This week, Jay Fish and Dean Reynolds fill in for John and Mike… and we welcome 16-year old Joe Trenca – the 2012 Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints Rookie of the Year – to the program to talk about driver safety and running a Mucci-owned 360. Then, Lyle DeVore – the GM of Lebanon Valley and Albany-Saratoga Speedways – comes in to share the inner workings of the track manager’s lifestyle. We finish up with Gil Tegg Jr., who talks about his motorcycle accident, and his new appreciation and list of goals as he returns to racing modifieds and late models.

Episode 77 ..::.. Free Form Thursday

This week, after a flurry of racing activity left us guest-less, we take a week from the hustle and hurry to enjoy a free-form Thursday, take questions from the live chat, and celebrate our new marketing partners, D’Amico Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram in Geneva, NY. Tony Stewart will be back at Canandaigua Motorsports Park July 16, the day before the Smoke will join Kasey Kahne in a sprint engagement at Fulton Speedway. The World of Outlaws Late Models will be at Canandaigua Motorsports Park on June 25. Black Rock races this SUnday afternoon, making up their rained-out Father’s Day show.

The historic car dealership will be part of the 31st Lap family for a calendar year starting with the first episode of July. Look for more news and information, and some revamped overlays and graphics on the upcoming podcasts!

This week, we sit as a full house, and chat with red-hot Empire Super Sprints racer Kevin Ward, fresh off his come-from-behind win at Granby, and his encore victory on the asphalt at Evans Mills. Then, we chat with Doug Emery, who ran second at Evans Mills, and wrap up with Bridgeport Modified winner Ryan Watt.

We also talk about the loss of Jason Leffler, who tragically lost his life in a 410 sprint car accident Wednesday night at Bridgeport in New Jersey.

Mike takes the week off to play baseball with Oswego, Jay Fish of the Dirt Motorsports Northeast Hall of Fame stops in to welcome Rich back to the show, and John remains grumpy as ever. Kevin Ridley pops in to talk about his win in the sportsman division at Canandaigua Motorsports Park, the competition in the division and we take questions and comments from the live chat about who is and isn’t in the Hall of Fame.

For the first time, Bryan Clauson visits the 31st Lap, discussing his 2012 season and 2013 plans on the National Wingless Sprints stage. Clauson currently sits third in USAC’s National Sprint Standings. Clauson ran in the Indy 500 last year and currently drives for Tony Stewart Racing.

WE also look at the action from the past weekend, and ahead to a weather-plagued racing schedule. Fulton has already cancelled their Methanol Meltdown program for Saturday.
