This week, we welcome Golden Isle GM Daryl Courson to the program for the first time to discuss the 2015 appearance of the DIRTcar Modifieds, and then we catch up with newly-named Penn Can Speedway man in charge Dan Harpell.

Episode 77 ..::.. Free Form Thursday

This week, after a flurry of racing activity left us guest-less, we take a week from the hustle and hurry to enjoy a free-form Thursday, take questions from the live chat, and celebrate our new marketing partners, D’Amico Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram in Geneva, NY. Tony Stewart will be back at Canandaigua Motorsports Park July 16, the day before the Smoke will join Kasey Kahne in a sprint engagement at Fulton Speedway. The World of Outlaws Late Models will be at Canandaigua Motorsports Park on June 25. Black Rock races this SUnday afternoon, making up their rained-out Father’s Day show.

The historic car dealership will be part of the 31st Lap family for a calendar year starting with the first episode of July. Look for more news and information, and some revamped overlays and graphics on the upcoming podcasts!

This week, we sit as a full house, and chat with red-hot Empire Super Sprints racer Kevin Ward, fresh off his come-from-behind win at Granby, and his encore victory on the asphalt at Evans Mills. Then, we chat with Doug Emery, who ran second at Evans Mills, and wrap up with Bridgeport Modified winner Ryan Watt.

We also talk about the loss of Jason Leffler, who tragically lost his life in a 410 sprint car accident Wednesday night at Bridgeport in New Jersey.

Matt Tanner stops by for his first 31st Lap visit to discuss the upcoming Empire Super Sprints event, scheduled for Saturday April 6 at Selinsgrove Speedway. We also get into it over Tyler Walker’s rumored full time ride in the wake of his alleged drug problems and conflicts.

Lance won the last sanctioned race at Rolling Wheels, and is currently tied with Mal Lane for third with 36 career ESS wins. He’s looking forward to the July 3 event at Rolling Wheels, running in conjunction with the Tom Ames Dedication to Racing full-fendered event.

John Lazore talks about the challenges of renovating and running a racetrack, and discusses a different approach to promotions, being a former driver himself.

Roy Sova discusses the two-seater, and the Make A Wish program that will be working with an area youngster this weekend.

Larry Wight was schedule, but after a tough outing with the Late Model, we could not reach him and hope to get with him down the line.

Marc Minutolo will discuss his record-setting win Saturday at Canandaigua Motorsports Park, and Jay Fish comes in as the closer to talk about the newly revamped Dirt Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Logan Schuchart stands as one of the hardest-to-book guests we’ve had, and we finally welcome him to the 31st Lap in this Episode.

We also catch up with Brett Deyo about the Clash at the Can event coming up June 12 at Penn Can Speedway, chat about trying to get Jarrett Andretti and catch up with Sportsman runner Dylan Evoy.

Sammy woke up Sunday with thinking his win was a dream and talks about his upcoming season in a 360 Sprint Car. Brett won his third straight at Lebanon Valley, and is the first driver to do that in 10 years. He also talks about the move of his ‘The Big One’ event to Albany-Saratoga.

In breaking news, Mike announces the Tom Ames Dedication to Racing event scheduled for full-fendered cars at Rolling Wheels Raceway July 3. The event will be for full-fendered cars, and will be 27 laps in distance, in honor of Tom’s favorite driver’s number, Danny Johnson (27J). DIRTcar is also working with Dirt Track Digest to make the event happen, and Mike expressed deep appreciation for that.
