South Seneca Class of 2020 grad Hannah Goldberg .::. FLX Weekly 7/1/20

Last weekend Hannah Goldberg and her classmates received their high school diplomas during the commencement ceremony at South Seneca High School in Ovid. Hannah, a former FingerLakes1.com, Inc. Intern, is in-studio to talk about the challenges of closing out her senior year in a pandemic, what the immediate future looks like for college bound students, and to share a song she composed and recently recorded.

Two Wayne-Finger Lakes girls basketball teams compete at the Far West Regionals at Rush-Henrietta on Saturday night for a chance to advance to the NYSPHSAA Final Four at Hudson Valley Community College. First, the South Seneca Lady Falcons take on the Section VI Class C Champion Allegany-Limestone Gators. Then, the undefeated Midlakes Screaming Eagles face Section VI Class B Champion Fredonia Hillbillies. South Seneca Falcons vs. Red Jacket Indians .::. Section V Class C2 Championship on FL1 Sports 3/3/18

After the South Seneca girls varsity basketball team graduated 4 starting seniors from a group that captured a NYSPHSAA Championship and a went to the NYS Final Four in consecutive years, many assumed that South Seneca would spend a year or two to rebuild their program back to championship status. Those people were wrong. South Seneca’s girls basketball program isn’t skipping a beat after Saturday’s 55-36 win over Red Jacket to capture the 2018 Section V Class C2 Championship at Rush-Henrietta High School. It was the South Seneca’s third straight Sectional title.

FL1 Sports was live inside Honeoye Falls-Lima High School on Wednesday night for the Section V Class C2 girls semifinal doubleheader with a trip to the finals on the line. Game one will feature the Bloomfield Bombers taking on the Red Jacket Indians. Game two will feature the defending Class C2 champion South Seneca Lady Falcons taking on the Oakfield-Alabama Hornets. South Seneca Lady Falcons vs Romulus Lady Warriors .::. FL1 Sports 1/19/17

The South Seneca and Romulus girls basketball programs have been the class of the Wayne-Finger Lakes in recent years. Both have captured New York State titles, Romulus in 2014 (Class D) and South Seneca in 2016 (Class C). Currently, the defending state champion Lady Falcons are ranked 1st in NYS in Class C by the New York State Sportswriters Association. The Lady Warriors are currently ranked 4th in Class D. Neighboring South Seneca and Romulus has always been an intense rivalry on the hardwood and that rivalry was renewed on Thursday night in Romulus. 2016 NYCC Tip-Off Classic on FL1 Sports

FingerLakes1.com kicks off our 2016-17 Wayne-Finger Lakes High School Basketball coverage with a quadruple header from the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY on Saturday, November 26th. Brendan Harrington and Tane Robinson have the call for the first two games. Jim Sinicropi and Kevin Korzeniewski are in the booth for the two late games.
